A very effective and cost efficient way to deal with growing in hot climates - when installed they can lower temperatures in a growing area by up to 10 degrees! Cool Tube reflectors can be linked together with ducting to allow growers to vent multiple shades using only one exhaust fan. Not only do you vent out all the heat generated by the globes but you can now place your globes much closer to your plants. They are also very suited for floor lighting. Growers can position them upside down with the light shining up underneath the plants. The globe is fully shielded within the glass tube and all heat can again be vented straight out of the room!
SetupCool Tubes are easily setup, simply mount your shades above (or below) your plants and link together using 150mm ducting.
Mount a fan at one end and blow air through the tubes, so hot air is not pulled over the fan motor. The air is blown through the ducting and exhausted out the other side so no hot air escapes into the growing area.
Fans
For 1 to 3 shades a 150mm inline fan will comfortably do the job if the ducting is running in a straight line and is less than 5 meters. If you are using multiple shades connected together and the ducting consists of multiple bends or long lengths of ducting, then a higher output Centrifugal fan is recommended.
